LATEST 20 POSTS, SOME VERY SHORT, SOME RATHER LONG

Welcome to One and All

This is not my only Internet project by a long shot, and Internet producing is not my only activity by a long shot. Although Unity-Progress may very well be theoretically my most important project, resources are limited for it at this time. I have the resources to produce about 5,000 words a month for Unity-Progress. To put this in perspective, 5,000 words are about 250 tweets, 20 very short "blog entries", ten longer blog entires, five short articles, two long articles, or 1/20 of a longer book. I do guarantee these 5,000 words will be produced and that they will be as informative and perfectly accurate as possible.

Unfortunately though, there will be wide variability from month to month. It is possible that nothing at all will be posted in a month, but at the other extreme, there will be a month now and then where about 10,000 words are produced. Another thing leading to variability is that there is no production template as of yet, meaning that postings will vary radically from very, very short to quite long. At this time it appears this variability will continue indefinitely.

Aside from the postings, there are numerous very important features that go along with this project to be found on numerous pages. Look for links to them; see especially the links just under the banner and the ones in the right sidebar near the top.

Finally, please know that you absolutely have to bookmark this site if you ever ever want to come back because it is not easy to find this Site or any other Sites of its kind on Google Search. In fact, most of the characteristics of this Site are precisely the ones that get the short shrift by the Google Search Engine formulas.

France and Much of the Rest of Europe are Moving Ahead of the USA in job Creation now

America is a moneytocracy, its all about money and little else. People who are left without health care are dying and they are going to continue to die when this "reform," which is itself dead on arrival, goes into effect.

It's your money or your life. Don't have much money? Well, it will just have to be your life...

Meanwhile, Europe, which is of course much more progressive than the US, has now routed the US in the "Who has the Better System" competition.

Until roughly a decade ago, about the only thing the US could point to that was better or stronger in the US than in Europe was the higher US relative rate of job creation. Now that is history: Most countries of Europe, and all the major ones except possibly Spain, have higher rates of job creation than does the US since at least late 2006.

Most European countries are losing jobs these days, but only a very small number relative to population compared with the massive job losses in the US. But, and this is important, even prior to the current economic contraction, Europe had drawn even with the US in the only major thing the US could brag about. Starting from about 1997 and through about 2006, the rate of job creation was roughly equal between the US and Europe, including France. Starting with 2007, France and most other European countries have pulled well ahead of the US in terms of creation of jobs relative to the population.

It will take at least two years, but eventually this news will reach the general public.

If you want to verify what I am telling you, visit the OECD statistics site and use its high quality, state of the art database. (Hint, use the index presentation of the employment data in the labor section.)

By the way, don't be stupid and look at unemployment rates, because European unemployment statistics are far more accurate than the US ones; everyone knows that actual US unemployment rates are much, much higher than the ones published.

Cenk Uygur Reveals the Health Reform Scam

I suppose they needed Cenk's revelations at Huffington Post, where it seems to be fashionable to be in the dark. But most Common Dreamers didn't need this information, because we already know what is up.

Fraudulently Happy People

Another important article from one of the most insightful and trenchant authors going right now.

People want to be happy but if they are fraudulently happy, and/or if they ignore the real unhappiness of others, they might as well be blind and deaf.

The Waterloo for Right Wing Control of the Economy

Krugman complains that the Blue Dogs are not making sense. But the interesting thing about the "health reform" debate in Washington is that basically no one is making sense, because nothing other than single payer and cost reduction through correct regulation and increased supply can correct the system.

In effect this is the Waterloo for the right wing control of the economy: health is the one thing that you absolutely positively must be progressive about, or it will apparently sooner or later cost you the whole economy, which in turn will sooner or later cost you the Constitution and the political system. If there is any justice at all in this world, the right wing system will completely go up in flames, due in no small part to the prime tinder provided by the health issue.

That's exactly why it must be defeated with every weapon at their disposal. It potentially calls into question a very wide range of other "socialist" issues regarding private profit versus the public good.

The fear of that possibility is by no means exclusive to the "right wing" of USA Incorporated's dual political facade. It's pervasive and palpable throughout the entire establishment system. If you lose this one, it's unlikely that you'll ever get a second chance short of revolution.

Yes, they always seem to believe in the "domino theory" don't they. But the domino theory has never seemed to be correct in real life. So if the right wing knew what was good for them, they would agree to at least two of the three between single payer, new cost regulation, and increased supply. I am reasonably sure all three are needed, but anything less than two of them is a 100% guarantee of failure. If the right agreed to two out of three and the economy still remained collapsed, at least they could say they tried something on the health front, laugh out loud.

But they definitely do not know what's good for them. All they know is that they think they should win every battle because they think they are right about everything. The fact that by using money and guns they control almost everything has led them to this ultimate arrogance.

But this honestly looks to be their Waterloo. The economy obviously can not handle the level of greed existing in the health industry and especially the health insurance industry. The right wing can enter the "health reform" battle and even seem to win it, but their "win" will really be a massive loss down the road.

[PS RV: The right wing is virtually all of the Republicans and roughly 3/4 of the Democrats.]
